Culture Administrative Clerk

The Fishing Lake First Nation Culture Portfolio Councillor requires an Administrative Clerk to assist with data entry, scheduling, conducting surveys, and administering multiple projects.

  • Data entry with Excel spreadsheets, word docs, etc.

  • Provides administrative support to ensure effective and efficient project systems and goals.

  • Carries out administrative tasks such as but not limited to answering phone calls, scheduling meetings, monitoring emails, filing, typing, copying, binding, scanning, etc.

  • Exhibits polite and professional communication via phone, email, etc.

  • Ensures operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements, scheduling repairs, maintaining equipment inventories, and evaluating new equipment and techniques.

  • Maintains supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level, anticipating needed supplies, and placing and expediting orders for supplies.

  • Will be required to open the 303 building and prepare coffee for Elders who wish to access the building for visiting purposes.

  • The position requires assisting with video recording events, meetings, and interviews with Elders and community members, as well as other requested events.

  • Conducting and recording interviews with individuals and small groups.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Secondary school diploma or equivalent education required (Grade 12)

  • 2 years of administrative clerk experience

  • Knowledge of appropriate software including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat

  • Valid driver’s license as some travel will be required.

  • On-the-job training as well as technical training will be provided to the successful candidate.
