Governance Fishing Lake First Nation’s Chief and Council consist of eight members who meet once a month to discuss and make decisions about the businesses and well-being for Fishing Lake First Nation band members. Chief and Council encourage input from all band members to decide what is in the best interest for all band members and the future of the Fishing Lake First Nation. The election system is by the Indian Act, Council Quorum is 5, we have 8 councilors and 1 chief, and we need 5 members to make Quorum in order to conduct business. A full Term is defined as two years, in which Appointment date would begin February 27, 2015 and continue until February 26, 2017.
